In the last article, we learned of Israel’s rejection of the Messiah even when they were the first to know it. Now the rejection led for their exile. Therefore, it’s quite logical that their acceptance of the messiah should be the reason for the return from exile. The portion of the Covenant which caused the exile of the Jewish people is stated in the Book of Deuteronomy where Moses commanded to the Children of Israel concerning the coming of Jesus.
15 The Lord thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him, ye shall hearken; 16 According to all that thou desiredst of the Lord thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the Lord my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not. 17 And the Lord said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken. 18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. 19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I WILL REQUIRE IT OF HIM. Deut 18:15-19
The above verses are a confirmation that the rejection of the Messiah will cause them to be “taken to task“. But did they repent which should be a prerequisite for the fulfilment of Deuteronomy 30? Of course, they did not repent. They are still one of the most ungodly nations on earth. Therefore it is quite natural for us to ask “WHAT CAUSED THEM TO BE REINSTATED?“.
Why are the Jews back in the land?
In an earlier article, we had mentioned that the present Nation does not represent the Children of Israel. Almost 70% of the present population are not true Jews in the genetic sense. Only 30% are true jews. Most of these political jews follow the perverted Rabbinic Judaism or are atheists/agnostics. Many Jews still refuse to come back to Israel as they identify the present nation as a ZIONIST nation. They still remain in their environment waiting for the Messiah to take them there. Irrespective of their numbers only a remnant shall be saved.
Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved: Rom 9:27
So based on the above verse, it would be interesting to know what is prophecied regarding Israel during the end times. We see that Jacob had an understanding of these events. However, when it came to the time for him to tell it to his sons, he withheld that information. Note his statement about how he is calling them for his final words. The term “BEFALL YOU” does not sound to be good news, but rather words of great concern.
And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall BEFALL YOU in the last days. Gen 49:1
Unless you are able to decipher some coded words, the chapter does not deal with any end-time event. It is more about blessings for the next 600-700 years(Except for that of Judah). I personally assume that Jacob did not have the heart to tell the horrific story that his descendants will have to endure. However, Moses did give a hint about the state of the people, in Deuteronomy chapter 4.
When thou art in tribulation and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the Lord thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice; 31 (For the Lord thy God is a merciful God) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them. Deut 4:30-31
The above verse indicates that the Children of Israel will have to go through the Tribulation in the latter days. As a result of the tribulation, they will repent and will accept Yeshua as their Messiah, with great mourning. Once they repent, the Messiah will come and will restore them their kingdom with the Messiah as the Son of David Ruling from Jerusalem. Therefore, they have not come back to the land because of any repentance they had. They are back as an act of God’s mercy as he remembers the covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. It should be noted that the promise given to Abraham regarding the land, was never fulfilled anytime in History. During their days of Canaan and during the time of the kings, the promise was never fulfilled. They just received a part of the land they were promised.
GOD has RESTORED a REMNANT, NOT BECAUSE OF THE MOSAIC COVENANT(Sinaitic Covenant with the Nation of Israel), BUT BECAUSE OF THE ABRAHAMIC COVENANT (vs 31).
Question: Do you know the extent of the land Abraham was promised?
Answer: He was promised the Land from the Nile in Egypt to the Euphrates in Iraq. This has never ever happened in History
In the same day, the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates: Gen 15:18
How the Abrahamic Promise will be accomplished?
The Return of the Jews in the land of Israel has heated up the spiritual realm. The powers of darkness have realized that the time of Israel’s redemption has come. As per the promise, all these neighbouring nations will become part of the Promised Israel. Each of these neighbouring nations is ruled by principalities and powers which belong to the kingdom of darkness. They are in charge of these territories for Satan. In the book of Daniel, we see that the nation of Persia was ruled by a principality by the name “Prince of Persia”. The Prince of Persia would not allow Gabriel to deliver the prophetic message. Hence he needed help from Michael to fight and clear his way to reach Daniel.
But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia. Daniel 10:13
Therefore, it’s reasonable to think that there will be dark forces over the kingdoms of Syria, Iraq, Jordan etc. These dark forces will group up and give their allegiance to the end-time king we commonly call as Anti-Christ. This scenario is quite evident from some scriptural portions which are mentioned below.
After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and broke in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns. 8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things. Daniel 7:7-8
12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. 13 These have one mind and shall give their power and strength unto the beast. Rev 17:12-13
The Prophet Zachariah speaks about the war that will be caused during the end time. You would have already noted that the country of Israel is ruled by Political Rabbinic Jews who want to occupy the land by their own power. With all the technological advancement and skills in modern warfare, God will allow them to fail. In the process, these Godless people who are estimated around 2/3 of the land’s population will be allowed to perish. When the destruction of Israel is imminent, the REMNANT will look to the face of the Lord and repent for their stiffnecked behaviour. This is the time when the Remnant will be saved by none other than their Messiah.
8 And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the Lord, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein. 9 And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God. Zac 13:8-9
This war commonly known as the War of Armageddon will be fought in the valley of Meggido(Rev 16:16). This battle of Armageddon will bring human rulership to an end (Dan 2:44). King David gives a very poetic expression of the entire scenario in Psalm 2.
Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying,
3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
7 I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.
10 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.
11 Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
