Despised Merry Christmas and a Blessed Happy New Year

Merry Christmas and a Happy New year are two of those traditions which came into Christendom over millenniums of its existence. Like the rest of the traditions, these two also have some historical assimilations.

Now the focus of this article is to display the contrast of TPM’s behaviour towards Christmas and New Year. Apart from the honey traps like the ones laid by Teju, TPM officially detests Christmas celebrations while promoting the New Year Celebrations.

Some Christmas Facts

If you would have attempted yesterday’s Quiz, you would have understood the reasoning behind the Dec 25th Christmas Celebrations. You would have noticed that Dec 25th was not just pulled out of some fictitious imaginations but has some historical basis. There were certain disagreements among churches about the exact date and somehow they all agreed with the Dec 25th. Even to this day, there are exceptions. Some Christians like the Ethiopian Orthodox, consider Jan 7th as the date of Christmas.

I know of TPM Pastors who preach out loud saying that the date is wrong and is far away by at least 3 months. I wish they had done complete research and presented the true facts rather than parroting their side of the story. This reverse gearing of TPM is the precise reason why TPM homes are made to look like the house of a Jehovah Witness during Christmas. They think its the best time to show to the world their disagreements regarding Christmas. During my childhood, the pastors used to frown upon The baked cake and other festivities that accompany traditional Christmas celebrations.

Why do not they invite their friends and colleagues to their homes and share about Jesus around a nice meal?  They can make use of a nice star and a nativity scene to explain them the significance of Christ’s birth. This might be the only chance many of us can gather up the courage to tell them about the Lord. But No…We need the help of the Zion bound clergy to preach Christ. Is it any surprise that in TPM, the believers preach about the White-clad Clergy as the USP of their Religion.

People, get out of your cosy environment and use this time to preach about the one and only saviour of mankind. The Dark days are coming when you cannot preach about Christ.

Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage–with great patience and careful instruction. 2 Tim 4:2

Some New Year Facts

Many early Pentecostal Churches(including TPM) spread this teaching that Christmas is a false date and this day is used by many anti-social elements for their drunken revelry. As many of their adherents were taken out (Sheep Stolen) of Traditional Christian Churches, they had to compensate that urge to celebrate, while warding off Christmas. Therefore, they took up the New Year celebrations with a religious twist. In the process, they comfortably forgot the fact that New Year’s Eve is a much bigger culprit of Drunken Revelry than the Christmas Eve.

These same churches took people out of Traditional Christian Churches on the pretext that they are following the “Bible”. But they conveniently hid that truth in the New Year celebrations.

Do you know that there are hundreds of calendars all over the world? Do you know that the present Calendar we generally use is the product of Pope Gregory XIII  of the Roman Catholic Church?

In the Process, we have set up a new Tradition called New Year Celebration which has a religious twist as a “Watch Night Service”. Have you ever noticed that this tradition overrules certain scriptures? When these teachers could import a tithe from the old testament and twist it to be a monetary tithe to fool their ignorant people, they ought to have been careful with the New Year theme of the Old Testament.

The Biblical Calendar

The Bible supports the Hebrew calendar as was GIVEN BY GOD himself. It’s not made by any Catholic Pope or a Roman Caesar. Now read the below verse. REMEMBER THAT THIS IS GOD’s CALENDAR.

The Lord said to Moses and Aaron in Egypt, “This month is to be for you the first month(Nisan/Abib), the first month of your year. Exodus 12:1-2

God did not abandon following this calendar as our Passover Lamb was crucified according to his calendar. The Resurrection happened on the First Fruits and the Spirit of God came down on his disciples on the Pentecost(Shavuot of Shavouts) entails Yahweh’s plan to “harvest” a specially chosen people from this earth.

Jewish Calendar with Festivals

So Ideally, If we are going to celebrate a Biblical New Year according to God’s Calendar which he himself follows, we should be doing it in the 1st of Nisan/Abib. How come we have shifted to the Roman Catholic Pope invented the Gregorian calendar and still claim to be following the Bible?

The Biblical Day

This is with reference to the Watch Night Service. Just as the clock is about to strike 12:00, the pastor intimates 5 Minutes to go. And then he tells 4 mins to go. At this time the drum beating accelerates and the people are jumping in a feverish pitch. The entire environment is charged up. Some mothers have a bad time warding off jumping feet from their sleeping kids. As the clock strikes 12:00 the entire crowd is mad in inviting the new year.

The High decibel screams continue for another 10 mins before the designated Clergy gets a miraculous prophecy from Zion, sandwiched between lots of unknown tongues. Ignorant TPM Believers are very eager to know what is God’s counsel for them, this year. Later on, in the meeting, there is a great curiosity among the believers to get the best promise scripture distributed among the laity. If the scripture they got were not very encouraging, they will get one more till they can get God to promise what they want. Such behaviours just prove the carnality of the New Jerusalem bound ignoramuses.

But is this 12:00 Midnight strike the start of a new year or a new day? The Bible does not agree with that. According to the Bible, the day ends at Sunset and the new day starts just at that point.

God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day. Gen 1:5

God called the vault “sky.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day. Gen 1:8

According to Jewish sources,

While a day starts and ends at nightfall, the exact moment when night — and the next calendar date — begins is not clear.

The twilight period, from sunset (“shekiah”) until three stars are visible in the sky (“tzeit hakochavim), is an “iffy” time period, known as “bein hashmashot.” Shabbat and all the holidays begin at sunset, the earliest possible definition of nightfall, and end when three stars appear in the sky the next evening, the latest definition of nightfall.

Despised Merry Christmas and a Blessed Happy New Year

A modern Jew considers the new day starts at 6:00 PM.

Now if God considers the sunset as the beginning of the new day, how come your new year anointing arrives a few hours after that, as per the wishes of the TPM Clergy? Do not be fooled by their theatrics.  There are no new blessings to be had at the midnight Jump. These are all manipulations.

Conclusion

Now that you have known some facts which might not have been known to you earlier. How will you react to it? Would you continue to believe in the TPM story or will you go with the Bible? There is no harm in celebrating a particular day or not celebrating it. But you need to be convinced why you are doing certain things. Do not be manipulated to follow certain traditions which have no biblical basis.

One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mindWhoever regards one day as special does so to the Lord….. Romans 14:5-6

  1. My thoughts exactly!!. The best answer to the bluff masters in TPM should be

    Romans 14: 5,6
    5. One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
    6. He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.

When I was a kid, the SOG would ask me if my mom had prepared any “Christmas treats” for sharing. Then they would tell that doing so was prohibited. I always would tell that my mom makes the regular fare but we just give it to the guests during their visits!! Some SOGs do indeed visit our homes during the festive season to check for decorations or the delicious snacks. My mother always made it a point to do it after their visit ends!! However, all that ended when we became youth and got much more immersed in the cult!!

Le this day be the best tool to EVANGELIZE!!

  2. THIS BEAUTIFUL EXPOSITION ON WATCH NIGHT SERVICE OF TPM BROUGHT YET ANOTHER MYTH OF THIS CULT INTO BROAD DAY LIGHT.
We have to seek the Biblical answers as ADMIN administered the correct dose
by presenting a very painstaking analysis. For some people this article looks highly boring..especially the staunch TPMites. We can’t help them as when ever a this kind of thorough analytical presentation done by ADMIN, there were few comments .It just doesn’t simply enter the minds of those who refuse to come out their mind set. One has to understand it with a purely scriptural manner. Even in South Indian states like TELUGU,TAMIL.KERALA observe their New Year from mid of MARCH onwards. What a great revelation this EPISODE brought into light!.So there existed some cultural cohessiveness between Jewish and Hindu lands right from the days of 521 B C (book of ESTHER refers INDIA Esther 1;1)
Yeah , the Jewish imprints were very much there in India.
The Jewish first hour starts with 6-00 PM.-7-00 PM—like if we go on counting..the first supper falls in this hour,(Luke 22;11,) Crucifixion falls on this hour too ( Luke 23;33) . Consider one more verse I give.” And the sixth hour was
was come there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour. (Mark15;33).That means from mid afternoon 12-00 PM to 3-00 PM it was darkness over the whole land.I only wish highlight the Biblical significance. that EPISODE brought into light.
Further down the analytical explanations, I do appreciate much.

Very well explained indeed. This study has set aside all the hard core views of the TPM clergy become null and void.

  3. CAUTION: This may look highly boring matter to read . But to get better educated of our land culture, we need to take this bitter pill.
For a moment setting aside the Scriptural point of view that corrects us(—- why do you observe days, months, and times and years? Gal 4.;10,9&11-)— for our understanding of our cultural traditions ,let us consider our core issue here NEW YEAR CELEBRATIONS in INDIA .
Do all Tamilians celebrate New year as per my corollary statement in my previous comment?
    Well, yes and no.
Most Tamilians do celebrate a New Year’s day around 14 APRIL but there’s a difference.Tamil people celebrate Puthandu, also called Puthuvarusham, as the traditional New Year. This is the month of Chittirai, the first month of the Tamil solar calendar, and Puthandu typically falls on 14 April.
Jewish first month ABIB/NISAN is more closer to Ugadi month that has been important and historic festival of the Hindu Land, with medieval texts and inscriptions recording major charitable donations to Hindu temples and community centers on this day. The same day is observed as a New Year by Hindus in many other parts of India. … In Karnataka, the festival is celebrated as Yugadi.

Ugadi (Ugādi, Samvatsarādi, Yugadi) is the New Year’s Day for the people of Andhra Pradesh,Telangana and Karnataka states in India. It is festively observed in these regions on the first day of the Hindu lunisolar calendar month of Chaitra. (MARCH)
The name Yugadi or Ugadi is derived from the Sanskrit words yuga (age) and ādi (beginning): “the beginning of a new age” Yugadi or Ugadi falls on “Chaitra Shudhdha Paadyami” or the first day of the bright half of the Indian month of Chaitra. This generally falls in late March or early April of the Gregorian calendar.

The people of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana use the term Ugadi (ఉగాది) and Karnataka use the term Yugadi (ಯುಗಾದಿ) for this festival.
Malayalis and Tamilians follow the solar calendar, so the New Year starts around April 14 (the Malayalis call it Vishu).

The Telugus & Kannadigas follow the lunar calendar, so the New Year’s day occurs sometime between March 15 & April 15.

That’s the similarity & the difference.

While this is true in general, there are definitely Tamil-speaking communities who follow the lunar calendar. It is possible that they too celebrate the New Year’s day on Ugadi. Can someone from North/North-west Tamil Nadu (Salem, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri districts) answer?
To conclude let me add;Though India celebrate New Year followed by both solar and lunar calendars system, most of these new year festivals are celebrated based on Hindu calendar, that follows movement of the moon. Culturally rich India has it’s own way to celebrate New Year’s day in different times of the year at different places. Every regions in India follow a different cultures, so traditions of new year’s day celebration also vary.Generally new year is celebrated in different states of India at the time of harvesting of crops, This is the same day which celebrate at other regions of India with different name as Gudi Padwa, Baisakhi, Cheiraoba – Manipur and Diwali – Marwari New Year.( Ackowledgements; WICKIPEDIA)
    Having given the exhaustive commentary as per above , I will now come to the core issue again for a healthy conclusion of this debate by citing the beautiful statement appeared in this article;
@There is no harm in celebrating a particular day or not celebrating it. But you need to be convinced why you are doing certain things. Do not be manipulated to follow certain traditions which have no biblical basis. God bless us all.

  4. Preceding watch night service is another important event as far as TPM is concerned and it is the sanctification meetings.
Today Tambi Durai gave a clear TPM explanation of this sanctification process in his sermon titled “Blessings of Sanctification” at Sharjah.
Root verse quoted is Lev 20:7, 8, John 10:36 and I Thes 4:3. The crux is if we sanctify ourselves we do the will of God. And then as per Joshua 3:5 if we sanctify God will do wonders in our family life, offices, business etc.
He boldly stated that “The above truth is revealed to saints in TPM only and not in other churches. Because Zion is not there in other churches but only in TPM. Zion indicates consecrated servants of god. Only from zion flows all doctrines..”.
He then added that ” …in other churches there are wonders and miracles because the servant of God and people have gifts. But in TPM god directly works wonders without numbers in children, believers, business and offices..which is better?? he asked loudly former or latter?? all repeated later (direct wonder)… with a loud hallelujah.
So all were instructed to take leave from offices and attend the sanctification meetings.
Hope the funda of sanctification as practiced by TPM is clear to all..
May the Righteous Lord deal with him accordingly for this blasphemy and for nullifying the sacred divine experience of sanctification.

    1. This video breaks many notions build by TPM Clergy like Thambi Durai. Sorry folks, it’s in Malayalam and too long for a translation.

  5. Thanks for sharing Bro. This is true Gospel which you will never hear in TPM.
Jesus desires that we are sanctified every moment of our life, but TPM is content with having this ritual before table and conventions ONLY as they value Zion more than our Saviour.

  6. Yeah, I too noticed that this thambi thurai is a materialistic pastor. He always speaks about money amd money and that is as blessing.

His brother or cousin I think who was in ministry and left and got married and then divorced and again got married and the couple stay in US or bangalore I think.

When we say about this to him, this pastor tries to wade off the talks.

  7. I just started reading this site. Quite informative. I appreciate the authors for their courage. We live in a time period in which those who raise voices of dissent and criticism are branded as anti-______ (fill in the blank).
This site gives me the assurance and clears the doubt I had in my mind for a long time — that there is nothing wrong in criticizing an ideology, especially when you find it weird.
In fact, the Bible itself is filled with stories of rebellion, criticism, and counter-criticism.
In the end, Truth Will Prevail.
Please continue to do the good work.
    May God Bless.
