TPM teaches that it is due to their sacrificial life, consecrated workers of TPM are revealed mysteries of the word of God. Their interpretation says that only eunuchs could prepare Esther for king Ahasuerus. Therefore, only unmarried ministers can prepare the church for the second coming of Jesus. In Voice of Pentecost (1967) we have words of A.C Thomas; – “….it is expected of the workers to forsake their all … Only when such people lead the Church…..” In Biography of Paul Ramankutty they write “Pastor Paul … received divine revelations and doctrines that could prepare the Church to become His Bride. God spoke to him about …consecration that His servants should lead. The Lord made it clear to him that it was imperative that His servants hate and forsake their all, in accordance with Luke 14:26,33.” In short, TPM stresses that it is on account of their consecration that they are given revelations to prepare church. Listen to a sample below.
We have already exposed the misinterpretation of Luke 14 which they use. In this article, we will test out what qualification is required to be a minister. Daniel says “As for me, this mystery has been revealed to me, not because I have greater wisdom than anyone else alive, but so that Your Majesty(King Nebuchadnezzar) may know the interpretation and that you may understand what went through your mind.
(Dan 2:30).” Joseph said concerning the interpretation of dreams “It is not in me.. (Gen 41:16).” Peter said, “Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? …as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?” Biblical characters made it clear that God does not reveal mysteries because of qualification in them. It is not the qualification of the vessel in his hand that he works among sons of men.
Scriptures are deliberately clear on shortcomings of biblical characters, to make sure people don’t give importance to self-achievements. Jonah ran away and refused to obey God. Still, God used him to save Nineveh from being destroyed. Samson broke his consecration & disobeyed the commandments of Moses to eat things defiled by the touch of a dead animal. Still, God’s mighty anointing came upon him to deliver people from the hands of the Philistines. Moses struck the rock twice. God had asked him to strike just once. But angry Moses struck the rock twice. Yet waters gushed forth from the rock! Why? Because it was need of people that God was more concerned with. He was not looking for the obedience of Moses, to make his miracle work. God’s love for his lost people is not limited by human worthiness. Apostle Paul writes “What if some were unfaithful? Does their faithlessness nullify the faithfulness of God? By no means! (Rom 3:3 ESV)”
There is a widely known message which you might have heard. It says “Abraham was old; Jacob was a deceiver; Moses was a murderer; Gideon was poor; Samson was disobedient; Rahab was a harlot; David had an affair; Elijah was suicidal; Jeremiah was depressed; Jonah was reluctant; Peter was hot-tempered; Samaritan woman was immoral; Zacchaeus was tax collector; Thomas had doubts; Lazarus was dead; Paul was the persecutor of the church. Still, God used all of them. Therefore none of the biblical characters gave any importance to the qualification they possessed to be used by God. They never demeaned others as not having the quality they had. They never said others do not meet the requirement. All the claims of celibacy as a requirement for ministry are con-games of TPM.
There is no difference in Old and New Testament ministry as TPM claims. God does not differentiate between the Old and New Testament people. For him, all people are sinners who came out of Adam and there is only one way of escape for all – which is the blood of Jesus to cleanse them. They looked into the future towards Messiah and we look back into the past towards our saviour. He stands in the centre as one hope of the entire mankind.
|TPM’s makes you focus on following twisting of scriptures|
|Luke 14:26, – forsake home parents wife (check here for truth)
Esther – only eunuchs prepare bride (check Dan 2:30, Acts 3:12)
Heb 5:4 – no man takes this honor
(This is spoken about Jesus not about TPM. Jesus took not this honor on himself but God made him high priests. These narcissists of TPM always see themselves as the fulfilment of scriptures rather than trying to see Jesus as the fulfillment of scriptures)
Heb 7; Melchizedek: having no parents, no lineage, no beginning of days…
(Writer of Hebrew is speaking about Jesus not about his own apostleship qualification. Secondly, he is speaking about the High Priest. Jesus is our high priest (chief priest). There can be only one high priest at a time. Jesus is still there. We need not have another high priest. Are there hundred chief pastors in TPM? If not then how can be there multiple high priests) Further they make people focus on without father and mother… But there are other things mentioned which they omit out. Does TPM people have no beginning of days.. ? They say Melchizedek is Holy Spirit not Jesus because Jesus had genealogy and father in heaven. But when it comes to them, they omit the genealogy and father mother part which they use to discredit Jesus as Melchizedek. Even their genealogy explanation is flawed. As the text says that Jesus did not have any descendants, why are these white clads laying claim to the descendant-ship of Jesus?
Qualifications as per True Apostles (Peter and Paul)
Let us look at some more scriptures, where Apostles of Jesus clearly expressed that they were no different than ordinary men (unlike TPM workers who claim their not marrying as extraordinary qualification making them separate from ordinary believers);
And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him. But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man...
And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying …..gods are come down to us in the likeness of men…..Which when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of, they rent their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying out, And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are MEN OF LIKE PASSIONS with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein:
Qualification of the minister is never a requirement of God to use men. Biblical pattern is that God uses the broken, weak and outcast people, so that man might not be able to boast in his presence. It is also important to note that there is no rule that every outcast downtrodden will be a mighty vessel in hand of God. So please avoid emotionalism when you hear “Jacob was a deceiver, Abraham was old, and so likewise he will use you.” Holy Spirit distributes Gifts AS HE WILLS (I Corinthians 12:11). God is absolute sovereign to use whomsoever he wants. It is the salvation of people which is more important than getting used for ministry.
TPM’s claim that they alone are apostles, who have qualification necessary to get revelation from God, in order to prepare church, is contrary to the spirit of scriptures. It makes God dependent on a handful of unmarried people to prepare a people for eternity. It is the salvation of people that matters to God and not the qualification of the messenger. No doubt that bible asks those desiring the office of bishop to be men of repute, and husband of one wife, and to be well equipped in the word of God. Those are sensible necessities. But it never asks people to remain unmarried to lead fellowship. Marrying is never a hindrance for God. Whoever teaches contrary to this teaches contrary to holy writings.
