I would often hear TPM ministers speak, “നിങ്ങളുടെ അഭിഷേകം പുതുക്കുക” [अपने अभीशेक को नया करो] [renew your anointing].” Believers would then start speaking in unintelligible repeating words, [everyone together] so that none understood what the other is saying!
When at last, the time to wind up tarrying meeting would come, then somebody would stand up and say “I thank God for giving me the opportunity to renew my anointing.”. We have been bombarded with this “renew your anointing” jingo so frequently through their songs, preaching and testimonies that we find nothing strange in it! Naïve TPM believers swallow everything that their demigods utter. The idea of “renewal of anointing” is nowhere found in New Testament. It is a twisted interpretation of TPM. Fundamentally speaking, to renew something is to make that thing new. Something must be expired to get it renewed. Indwelling Holy Spirit does not get expired or corrupt or weakened. It is same forever. His power does not diminish. Holy Spirit dwelling in us, therefore, does not need renewal. Bible tells us that we need daily renewal (II Corinthians 4:16) and this renewal happens in the MIND
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:12
To speak of renewing anointing or renewing Holy Spirit is like mocking God. God wants you and me to be constantly renewed in the mind. But the little horn of TPM with loudmouth says “renew the God(Holy Spirit) in you” or “renew the anointing that abides in you!!” Nonsense!!

The Syntactical Twist and the immaturity of Gift display
I am sure some of you may say that what the TPM Ministers mean by renewing is to renew the Gift of the Holy Spirit and not Holy Spirit himself. TPM Ministers somehow thinks that God’s Gifts needs to be maintained by the Saturday shouting. They think that God is also finicky like them that if we do not keep flattering him with the Saturday shouting, he will be upset. Let me open your eyes in one verse.
for God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable. Romans 11:29
Which Part of IRREVOCABLE do you not understand?
I maintain that most of the Unknown tongues you hear in TPM are artificial Emotional Whip ups. But for an argument, I will take it and let us analyse the results as below.
Only an immature person will display a gift without using it. 99% of TPM Ministers and Believers are interested in Displaying the Gift and not using it. How do you know they are interested in DISPLAYING and not USING? I can give you a simple formula. In most of the Tarrying meetings, the conducting brother would say that “This Anointing is Not Enough“. He says such an anointing will not enable you to fly when the Lord Comes again. Do you know what makes him say that? It is because of the shouting, Jumping, kicking was not spectacular enough for him to appreciate. How come if he cannot appreciate it, that the Holy Spirit will appreciate it? Did you get my Point?
The purpose of the Holy Spirit is to convict the world of Sin, Righteousness and Judgement. I am yet to understand how would TPM Saturday shouting do any of that. Sometimes the Saturday shouting becomes so unbearable that the neighbours complain to the police about this disturbance. The Spirit that operates in TPM is a spirit of anarchy and loud noise without any purposeful outcome. Moreover, the lives of these shouters are never changed in a positive way. They continue in their own deception and carnal ways irrespective of attending and shouting in so many tarrying meetings.
The Scriptural Twist from Isaiah’s text
TPM uses Isaiah 40:31 to support their nonsense dogma.
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint (Isa 40:31).
If you isolate this verse from rest of the chapter then you will fall for TPM’s false teachings. But if you read the entire chapter then it is easy to understand that this chapter is foretelling of coming of Messiah. Note the implication in bold. Isaiah 40 starts by saying “Speak words of comfort to Jerusalem that her warfare is accomplished and her iniquity is pardoned [(verse 2)]. The voice of him that crieth in wilderness…[John the Baptist (verse 3)]…… He shall feed his flock like a shepherd [(Shepherd Jesus Christ – verse 10-11)].” As you can observe the context of Isaiah 40 is the salvation of people of Israel through Messiah. In the last few verses of prophecy, the prophet comforts Israel from its hopeless state. He asks “Why does Jacob think that God will not judge enemies of Israel who have enslaved Israelites (Isaiah 40:27)” The idea is to reconfirm the promise of restoration to the nation in despair, because of slavery and bondage (It signifies mankind in the bondage of sin will be renewed).
In other words, the Isaiah 40 can be paraphrased as “appointed time of pardoning of the iniquity of Israel has come .. the voice of John the Baptist can be heard … salvation and redemption of Israel are for surety and therefore Israel must wait on the Lord and must not lose hope. The phrase “…they that wait upon the Lord” therefore means that all those who trust in God. Wait upon the Lord== Trust in God. Such people who look for the Messiah (keep trust in God) will be renewed and given new life. “They that wait on the Lord” does not mean that we must tarry for anointing every Saturday meeting. Just like the wings of eagle gets shed off and eagle receives new wings, (which is like a new life for eagle), so likewise people who trust in God will be given a new life. They will be renewed who wait on the Lord (trust in the Lord). This is the idea of Isaiah 40:31 in nutshell. The context is salvation through Jesus. It is about a new life free from the slavery of sin and bondage. It is not about attending TPM’s tarrying meeting or renewal of anointing.
Examining Psalm 103 Twist
This same idea of redemption from slavery/destruction, by receiving forgiveness of sins is expressed in Psalm 103:1-5 (which again is misinterpreted by TPM workers).
Psalm 103:5 says “……so that thy youth is renewed like eagles”
Often TPM workers reiterate this verse to enforce their profane dogma of renewing anointing. If you read verses above this verse, i.e. Psalm 103: 1-4, then you can clearly note the phrases which are soteriological in nature. Observe bold text in Psalms 103:1-5 below. In verse 3 it says “Who forgiveth thine iniquities” and then it says in verse 4 “who redeemeth thy life from destruction” and then finally it says “so that thy youth is renewed like eagle’s,” in verse 5. Therefore all these words viz. forgiveness, iniquity, redemption and renewal (new birth) are clear gospel-centric. How blind it ought for us to be to miss them! Yet TPM twists it and enforces their perverted teachings on gullible souls.
A meditation on TPM’s anointing of Zion
Before concluding this article, I would attempt to expose yet one more blasphemous act of TPM. Have you ever heard of Anointing of Zion? I assume you have seen a glimpse of it in the Chennai convention. New ministers start jumping and shouting crazily, as soon as the powerful hand of chief pastor falls on their head! They say when the chief pastor lays his hand on heads of new minister then the anointing of Zion comes upon them. It is mandatory that TPM chief pastors must put his hand on their head otherwise they are not taken into ministry. Without the chief pastor, there is no anointing of Zion. Chief Pastor is the gate and door to Zion. You cannot be born in Zion bypassing the chief clergy. This is an insult to God. Where Jesus Christ is the gate to Normal heaven for normal independent church believer (John 10:7, 14:6), there TPM chief shepherd is the way and door to the more glorious place, into which Christ the door cannot lead you! This anointing concept of Zion is derogatory of Christ THE ONLY WAY and THE DOOR to heaven.
TPM calls itself “The Pentecostal mission.” However, they are the ones who lead the groups that dishonour the Holy Spirit. Let me ask you “Is not it open rebellion to transgress what Spirit commands through Apostle Paul, to instruct the church to not to conduct tarrying meeting (check here)? They have also dared to put the Holy Spirit out of eternity, who was sent on earth to make people ready for eternity (check here). They also try to replace the Holy Spirit by manipulating people and controlling them with their own rules, when the truth is that the Holy Spirit must lead people and not human beings ( check here). It is the Holy Spirit who is sent to earth to prepare the bride of Christ but these fake eunuchs say that they are preparing the bride of Christ. Their ordination of ministers is also a mockery of the Holy Ghost (check this). And finally, as this article reveals, TPM reviles Holy Spirit by saying “Anointing in believer needs renewal every Saturday.” Considering all that, the blasphemies of TPM with respect to the anointing, it is indeed the hour to stop calling TPM a Pentecostal church.
