I usually do not care to even look at the TPM propaganda magazine. This is because it is a dangerous tool to deceive people. But this time a friend showed to me about the propaganda of TPM Chief Wolf against us which they had published. I brushed aside and flipped the pages. And behold what I found. I could not believe my eyes that these TPM Ministers could be so dumb. They are using the same scripture which condemns them and trying to justify their ways. Let us have a look at the section which I would like to highlight.
What does the Bible say about “A Form of Godliness”?
TPM believers deserve this kind of articles in the VOP. They are the most gullible ones who can consume things like this LOCK, STOCK, and BARREL. When uneducated people are running their magazine ministries, you should not expect any common sense. The first sentence of the paragraph makes clear that “a form of Godliness” is an essential part of Godliness. Wow!!!
Dear Thambi Thurai (Editor VOP), In case you did not understand what the Apostle was saying, let me tell you in contemporary English. Paul was simply saying that “In the last days there will be people who SHOW OFF their godliness(the empty shell) without any true Godliness…FROM SUCH TURN AWAY.” And you have fallen to such pathetic levels that you are advocating SHOW OFFs of Godliness by use of your White Clothes which you want to classify as SIMPLE. Huh, the abyss truly is near. Yet, ironically, they still believe they have an authority to “speak on behalf of God”! They believe they know better than the truth of Jesus Christ. I feel that they believe “a form of godliness” allows them to be “lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God” (2 Timothy 3:2-4 ). All those traits corrupt us, rather than make us more God-like. Yet, in spite of all these things, they still cling on to “a form of godliness” to make it “all right.” We certainly need to ask ourselves this question: “Whose standards are we living by?” “Ours?” Or, “God’s”?
Who are we trying you impress? Man or God? Are you trying to cover up your body like Adam and Eve, thinking God will never see your nakedness? Do you think Almighty God is a Man like you? Do you think you can deceive him by your white dress and show off of Godliness?
“Do I want to live my life with ‘a form of godliness/Show off,’ or with the true godliness as portrayed in the Bible”? If you want the second, then you have to associate with those who set that standard. The Bible clearly tells us to “turn away” from the others, for, if we don’t, they will cause us to become like them, justifying ourselves and then trying to cover it over with “a form of godliness.” And that, my friend, is deception.
Again, let’s ask ourselves another question: “Who has the most influence on my life?” If that influence is not good, what are you going to do about it? Don’t expect God to do something about it. He told us to “turn away from such.” The next decision is yours!
“A form of godliness” does not bring eternal answers. It does not change lives; it only causes people to accept their lot as being from God and conform themselves to man-made rules. That is exactly what the devil wants us to believe, “that we are born like that and we have to live with it” “to the glory of God” (of course! Let’s blame God!).
As we get closer to the return of the Lord Jesus Christ, we are going to see the gap between the godly and those with “a form of godliness” get further and further apart. The life of Biblical godliness will be rejected more and more as “evil men and imposters will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived” (become more religiously deceived) 2 Timothy 3:13
If you recognize that you are allowing those with “a form of godliness” to influence your life negatively, then the Bible instructs you: “from such turn away.” It is something you have to do. It is not God’s will for you to be dragged down by others who do not have the right godly standards. Recognize what is happening, and make decisions that will bring you closer to Jesus, give you more power, and a freedom to live your life “to the glory of God”.
What is True Godliness?
The Greek word translated “godliness” in most English translations means “a proper response to the things of God, which produces obedience and righteous living.” As He walked this earth, Jesus was the embodiment of pure godliness, which led Him to lay down His life for unworthy sinners (John 10:18). His life was dedicated to the glory of the Father, and He always did what pleased Him (John 8:29). Christians pursue godliness when we follow the example of Jesus in dedicating every decision to the glory of God (1 Corinthians 10:31). Godliness is not a suggestion; it is a command (1 Peter 1:15–16; Hebrews 12:14).
First, I would just like to say that salvation is not about doing good, but it’s about being like God. Now, you know that’s what godliness is! If you’re godly, you’re like God! If you’re ungodly, that means that you’re not like God! It’s the restoration of sinful men to the image of God. It really is! It’s the restoration of men that are corrupted by sin and broken fellowship. It’s a restoration of that fellowship with God. It restores that image of God. That’s what godliness is! Then, it restores the fellowship with God.
We, the sons of men, are given the power to become the sons of God. Now that’s what it says in John 1:12. “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:”
Now, Jesus did not come to show us how to be a good person! That’s what most religions teach. He was the great teacher. He was the leader. He taught us how to live. Well, now He did do that, but that wasn’t His purpose in coming to this earth! He came to seek and to save that which was lost! But, in order to do that, he had to show us what God was like.
“No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.” John 1:18.
“And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.” John 12:45
8 Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.” 9 Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? John 14:8-9
“Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;” Heb 1:3
Jesus came to reveal to us what God is like.
“In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.” 2 Cor 4:4
So, He didn’t come just to set a good example for us to live by. He came to show us the Father.
God’s life in us expresses itself as God’s life, not our life, trying to be godly. See, I’m saying a whole lot there and I don’t know how many of you are really letting it soak in, but a person who’s saved, their body is the temple of the Holy Ghost. God does come and make His dwelling place in here. He is going to be the Lord of this kingdom. “The kingdom of God is within you!” It’s not far off somewhere. The secret of a Christian’s life is that the supernatural becomes natural in him because of the grace, the influence, of God.
God Never wants us to conform to the dictates by these unspiritual Goons. He is asking us to Transform and NOT Conform. We ought to add the “White Dress” in the W section of our unlearning the code article.
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2
You have an action to perform. You re expected to TURN AWAY from this kind of people who are tricking humans with their “Form Of Godliness”. Their Dressing and Acting Godly can only trick Men and Not God. God sees the Intentions. It’s so simple to know that a real Godly Person need not dress up and camouflage their true self. God knows it all.
A person may think their own ways are right, but the LORD weighs the heart. Proverbs 21:2
All a person’s ways seem pure to them, but motives are weighed by the LORD. Proverbs 16:2
For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was”(2 Timothy 3:1-9)
