We recently received a communication from one brother. After hearing of some incidents in TPM, He said the below. TPM Clergy is merrily fiddling like Nero when Rome Burned.
I understand. Given everything that’s happening why do you still believe in God? If God was really there would he have had allowed such scumbags to exist and misguide so many people? Above everything a lot of people who join TPM as ministers believe that God’s calling them.
I am simply not able to reconcile an inactive God, an evil generation of ministers who claim to be stewards of light and a clueless fellowship.
The above question is not very uncommon. There are times when I have also had my thoughts struggling in that direction. But it does not take a genius to figure out that such thoughts are because “We are the center of OUR OWN World“. The moment, you remove yourself from being the center of your worldview, you will get the correct perspective.
The list of people who impacted the World in a positive way, struggling against evil is long. And all of them(as far as I know), have removed themselves from the Center of their World. When they removed themselves as the center of their world, they had the right perspective. Let us check out few of them from the Biblical world and also from secular History , who removed themselves from being the Centre of their own World.
- Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: (Phil 2:6). But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)
- Paul: A Roman Citizen(Acts 22:25), was the Son of a Shipping Magnate of Tarsus, who left all as Dung for Christ(Phil 3:8). Half of New Testament Scriptures are written by this person. He did not consider himself as the Centre of his world. You can see the world according to Paul in 1 Cor 9
- Moses: By faith Moses, when he was grown, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. 25He chose to suffer oppression with God’s people rather than to experience the fleeting enjoyment of sin ( Heb 11:24-25).
- From Secular History: Mother Teresa, Martin Luther, Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Many more.
Now compare the above list with people who joined a cult named TPM and always think themselves as the center of their world.
History of Mankind – The Problem of Evil
We should not assume that the Evil happening around us are new and hence God has gone into a dormant stage, caring less for whatever happens in this world. It has been going on since very early days.
The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. Eccl 1:9
Throughout the Bible, we can see a majority being Evil and only a Minority resisting it. This minority has wilfully refused to be subjugated by Evil or Evil Doers. Of Course, there was a silent Majority which knew what was right and still continued to support the evil because they wanted their temporal life to be comfortable.
Throughout the history, Truth and Good/Right have always won over Wrong and Evil. But on all those occasions, Evil had dominated Good/Right for some period before Good/Truth had victory. Remember that Mankind plunged into Sin for so long till the Messiah came and Israel was in slavery for 400 years before redemption happened. The struggle will continue.
Once I removed myself from the center of my own world, I could see that God is much more active in these last days and is intently in control of everything and all details of our lives. Consider David who started many of his Psalm with complaints and then by the end of the psalm, he understood the right perspective. Consider Habakkuk where he was overwhelmed but then he understood when he removed himself from being the center of his world. Same was the Case with Job and many other Godly men including the Apostles.
In case you ever thought that God is not in control or is being inactive, I suggest that you read biblical prophecies of events that should come to pass in the last days. You will never come out of that without acknowledging God’s sovereign control over all things. Even this TPM is a prophetical fulfillment of the last days. How could you ever avoid those things? My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge:…(Hosea 4:6)
An Example of Spiritual Classification
In order to know different kinds of people in a spiritual war, we can turn the pages of the Bible to the place where Elijah is in Full action. Let us consider the different sets of people who are at different spiritual levels.
1. Elijah – The one who resists Evil, Publicly and Fearlessly:
A Prophet of God who did not have any ancestral credentials. All that we know about him is that he was a Tishbite( 1 Kings 17:1). He knew the God he served. He single-handedly challenged Ahab the King, Jezebel the Queen and a big group of Prophets of Baal and was instrumental in bringing the reign of Evil to a Halt. Most of his works can be found in 1 Kings 17,18,19 and 2 Kings 1 and 2. He is a Man fully given to fight against the forces of Evil. This same anointing of Elijah was in John the Baptist and it will be seen even during the end times.
2. Obadiah & the Seven Thousand – People who have made their intentions clear :
There are these people who have not bowed their knees before Evil and has been resisting Evil (1 Kings 19:18). These are people who are more on the defense, unlike the offensive Elijah.
3. The Majority – Who knows what is right, but chooses to be with the powerful:
These are the silent majority who are basically selfish and thinking of themselves as the center of their own world. These people do not care if they are Ruled by Ahab or Jehu. For these people, their world starts and ends with themselves. Most TPM believers can be categorized in this group. You ask them a decisive question and they will remain silent to see where the power scales tilt. Check out the below incident in Mt Carmel.
And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word. 1 Kings 18:21
4. Prophets of Baal – The Agents of Evil :
These are the ones that follow after their gods(Baal and Ashtaroth) who are powerless to face challenges posed by Elijah. They receive their authority from the palace of Jezebel and Ahab. These are the priestly class that lived on the expenses doled out to them from the palace. They were tools used by Jezebel to bring unrighteousness and ungodly practices into the kingdom of Israel.
5. Ahab and Jezebel – The Epitome of Evil:
These two are the King and the Queen of Elijah’s time and they took Israel from the Living God to Pagan worship of Baal. Satan had his couple on the throne, but God had His man in the field, performing miracles and leading a revival against Baal-worship. The three-and-a-half-year drought that Elijah prayed for was part of God’s judgment on the wickedness of the nation and its leaders.
When Elijah confronted Ahab near the end of the drought, the king said to him, “Is that you, you troubler of Israel?” (1 Kings 18:17). But Ahab had it wrong. Elijah was not the one bringing trouble on the land. The prophet corrected the king: “I have not made trouble for Israel . . . but you and your father’s family have. You have abandoned the Lord’s commands and have followed the Baals” (verse 18).
After Elijah defeated the prophets of Baal and had them killed at Mt. Carmel (1 Kings 18), Jezebel issued a death threat against him (1 Kings 19:2). The queen went on to plot against Naboth, the innocent owner of a vineyard that Ahab coveted. Jezebel had Naboth killed so the king could confiscate his land (1 Kings 21), and she prodded her husband into many other wicked acts besides: “There was none who sold himself to do what was evil in the sight of the LORD like Ahab, whom Jezebel his wife incited” (1 Kings 21:25).
Ahab’s death was predicted by the prophets Elijah and Micaiah (1 Kings 21:19; 22:28). Jezebel’s gruesome death was also predicted by Elijah (1 Kings 21:23). True to the prophecy, Ahab was killed in a battle with Syria. Later, Jezebel was thrown from a tower, “and some of her blood spattered on the wall and on the horses, and they trampled on her” (2 Kings 9:33). Then, “when they went to bury her, they found no more of her than the skull and the feet and the palms of her hands” (2 Kings 9:35). Just as Elijah had said, the dogs ate Jezebel.
In Revelation 2:20 Jezebel’s reputation lives on as Jesus speaks against the church at Thyatira: “But I have this against you, that you tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess and is teaching and seducing my servants to practice sexual immorality and to eat food sacrificed to idols.” The woman’s name in Thyatira was probably not literally “Jezebel,” but her immorality and idolatry in preying upon God’s people were very Jezebel-like.
Both Ahab and Jezebel were leaders of God’s people who forsook the Lord and served other gods. The royal couple earned a reputation for sin and violence, and they both suffered violent deaths as part of God’s judgment on their actions.
Evil has existed in this World from the time Lucifer fell. He will continue to war with the people of God, till he is cast into the lake of Fire. We cannot wish away evil and expect to lead a life without struggling against it. Looking the other way or blaming God for being inactive is not going to make any difference. We have to make a choice. Are you going to be an Elijah or an Obadiah? Or are you comfortable with saving your skin as the Silent Majority? You could also choose to be part of the priestly class under the protection of the Evil Ahab and Jezebel. Your choice defines your destiny. Choose wisely.
