TPM has lots of weird practices that are alien to the Church of God and also to basic decency in the secular world. When I was a teenager, there were some questions which bothered me when I saw certain practices in TPM. Of course, I did not get any answer to those questions then. However, I would like to share it with you for your benefit.
1. Holy Communion
Apart from those regular issues which have been raised on this website, I always had this question about TPM’s Holy Communion. When the Holy Communion is conducted in TPM, the Pastor takes and eats his portion before giving to others. Then he shares it with his fellow workers. Later on, he gives the left-overs to the congregation. When I read my bible, it was quite an unbiblical practice for me. I also understood that TPM Pastors eat it before the rest and then share the leftovers with the believers because he considered himself higher than the others.
Now let me share what the Bible says.
How did Jesus conduct the Last Supper?
Let us consider some verses.
4 He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself. 5 After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet. John 13:1,5,14
rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. Philippians 2:7
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, Philippians 2:3
And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them(Did not eat it himself First), saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” Luke 22:19
22 During the meal, Jesus took some bread in his hands. He blessed the bread and broke it. Then he gave it to his disciples (He did not eat it first) and said, “Take this. It is my body.” Mark 12:22
just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:28
Anybody who is even unlearned in scripture can understand that Jesus became a Servant and Served his disciples. Its common sense that a servant never eats before the one he serves. Ever heard of a servant who eats up his portion and gives the leftover to the others whom he is supposed to be serving? Yes. You got it right. You can see this special servant in the Pulpits of The Pentecostal Mission and also in Luke 12:45 and Matthew 24:49
Do you think Jesus gave the bread to his disciples like the TPM Pastor who makes his Believer to Kneel Before Him?
Of course Not. This is because Jesus became a Servant and a Servant will not make the one who is Served to kneel before him. Have you noted that TPM Pastor Makes the Believer Kneel before him?
It is reasonable to assume that Jesus and his disciples sat at the same table as the room was furnished and prepared for the Supper. Then why does the TPM Pastor wants to give the Lord’s Supper in this Fashion?
……Where is the guest-chamber, where I shall eat the Passover with my disciples? 15 And he will shew you a large upper room furnished and prepared: there make ready for us. Mark 14:14b-15
2. Making the Believer kneel before the Pastor
They cannot get rid of their mind control games anytime soon. If you have been with TPM, you could have seen so many occasions where the TPM pastors make the believer kneel before him and place his hand over the believer to show his superiority.
Is there any precedence of such kneeling and falling before another man in the Bible?
Yes, we have it. But always it is for Worship and also showing Ones superiority over others.
“Bathsheba bowed low and knelt before the king. ‘What is it you want?’ the king asked.” 1 Kings 1:16
“You made my adversaries bow at my feet.” 2 Samuel 22:40
Should a New Testament believer kneel or fall before another Man?
25 And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him. 26 But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man. Acts 10:25-26
Who are we supposed to bow our knees to?
Another Man? Of course Not.
For this, cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Ephesians 3:14
Do you think that your knees which Bow Before God should also bow before another Man?
Next time your TPM Minister asks you to bow your knees while he is standing or sitting, do you know what to do? Ask him to bow his knees along with you as you are both equal in the sight of Almighty God. He will know that you cannot be controlled.
3. The Hovering Holy Spirit
You know the TPM Prophets have some set of standard prophetical lines. One of the introductory prophetical lines you get to hear is that the “Holy Spirit is Hovering over this assembly” . I always wondered why does the Holy Spirit need to hover over people as was in the days following the creation.
2 And the earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Gen 1:2
When will the TPM Prophets realize that the Holy Spirit indwells within each believer and he need not hover on them? If they are creating imagery of Hovering of Holy Spirit, they are in fact agreeing that they are not the Temple of God.
16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth IN you? 1 Corinthians 3:16
Dear TPM Believer,
Do not fall for the Clergy Manipulation. Question everything and prove what is Right according to the Scripture.
Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. Ephesians 4:14
