Faith Life! Really?
TPM believers/workers boast that their saints don’t receive a salary but live a faith life. We can then ask “Does pope receive a salary? Do Orthodox monks and nuns receive a salary? The answer is no! Can sadhu/sanyasi and rishi muni claim they are also living faith life?”
In the Old Testament, Levites had no property, but they lived on tithes! A system was established by God in Israel whereby it was fixed for people to give 10 percent of their income to Levites. This is therefore not a life of faith but a life on a fixed system of 10% monthly income! The TPM worker is very sure that tithe will keep coming regularly and every month. There is no need of faith is this system.
For your information: Pastor Paul Ramankutty after having sold his house kept the entire money and utilized it. It would have been different had he given all that money to poor and lived a life moving from village to village and city to city preaching kingdom of God, instead of selling the property and keeping the money with him for his future. Even you can do it! Sell your house/land and keep that money with you, and I am sure you can survive at least ten years with it. Even if he lived a faith life, yet it cannot be proved that TPM workers of present time live by faith. Instead, they live by tithes. Same applies to catholic priests and nuns. There is nothing to boast about it.
Faith life vs living on Tithe:
There is a difference between living on tithe money and living by faith. When Jesus commanded his disciples to preach the kingdom of God from village to village (Luke 9:6) he asked them to carry no purse and promised that God will ensure that worker of God will receive his wage. Jesus never asked them to wear special clothes so to let people know that they are monks! It is one thing to keep traveling from city to city, preaching kingdom of God and altogether another thing to live in a city in fixed home (like Levites) on a fixed monthly system of tithes! Traveling from village to village requires faith because you don’t know anyone in the city you are going and what you will do there without any money. However earning a livelihood by 10% of income given by individual members of the church is bishop-ing or deacon-ing. Without realizing this difference Pastor Ramankutty twisted the context of scripture of Matt 19:16-30 as faith life of TPM.
In Matthew 19, Jesus asked the rich man to forsake all and follow him, if he desired to gain eternal life. This had nothing to do with so-called faith life. Following Jesus by forsaking all that belongs to us and taking up the cross (Matt 19:16-30) is a pointer to “death-of-self-and-resurrection-with-Jesus”. Jesus was on his journey towards the cross. For the rich man to gain eternal life, he ought to have followed Jesus to cross. Every Christian is expected to do this (Mat 16:24, Luke 14:26-27). We must all follow Jesus on his journey to cross and die with him and be raised with him (Rom 6:2-3). In Dying with Jesus and resurrecting with him, our old self is sacrificed. Everything we have, including our self is sacrificed. We are thereby raised to newness of the new man in reconciled state with God (United to God through the body of Jesus). So, Matthew 19 is not about TPM’s so-called faith life.
See the twisting of Foundational Scripture
It is taught by TPM that Paul Ramankutty started faith life based on the verse “just shall live by faith” (See 5th paragraph of Chapter 4 of his biography. God appeared to him and said “Are you ready to forsake all? I will meet your needs. The Just shall live by faith”). According to Apostle Paul “just shall live by faith (Gal 3:11)” has to do with salvation/eternal life and not with eating food in physical life. Just shall live by faith means a righteous man will live eternally (receive eternal life=live) by his faith on the blood of Jesus and will not be destroyed by the wrath of God. But Paul Ramankutty used this verse for his life on earth and getting daily food. This is twisting/misapplying of scriptures and deceiving people. TPM says God himself appeared and said this! How stupid! How blasphemous! God himself is said to have twisted the scripture!
Note: Faith life was popularized by George Muller way before TPM founder Paul Ramankutty copied it. You can do a little research and find more about deeds of charity to which George Muller applied this concept. Pastor Ramankutty removed charity part from it and then made a mess of it. And TPM deceives people that God came and revealed the deeper truth of faith life to TPM chief Pastors.
Faith Home as House of God,
In Old Testament times, Tabernacle/ Temple of Solomon was considered as the house of God. However, God had made it clear even in Old Testament times that Temple was not the House of God. At the inauguration of first temple (Temple of Solomon), God spoke through the mouth of Solomon
“But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have built?” I Kings 8:27
Then again God made Jeremiah speak this to people of Israel when the temple of Solomon was about to be destroyed.
Trust ye not in lying words, saying, The temple of the Lord, The temple of the Lord, The temple of the Lord, are these. Jer 7:4.
Finally again when Second Temple of Herod was about to be destroyed, Jesus said this temple will be destroyed, however, I will raise the true temple (Body of Jesus) in three days (Mark 14:58). Again Stephen asserted the same thing to Israelites saying God does not dwell in a temple made with human hands (Acts 7:48). Then Apostle Paul said, we believers are the temple of God (I Cor 3:16). This was revealed in the book of Genesis itself (Gen 2:7). How often has this been said in the bible then?
Yet TPM teaches people that God dwells in faith homes made with mortar and brick made with human hands. They call their faith Home as the house of God. TPM workers are brainwashed by their seniors. They, in turn, brainwash believers that TPM saints live in the house of God. They boast it is a great privilege and calling of God to be able to live in faith home.
Jesus never lived in any hermitage. He said foxes have holes & birds have a nest but the son of man has no place to lay his head. Jesus kept moving from one place to another, from village to village, preaching kingdom of God. He didn’t establish monasteries or hermitages made up of mortar and bricks and cement in every place he visited, and neither did his disciples.
The practice of living in hermitage has roots in sanyasi & rishi muni culture or yogi culture in India. Hermits like Gautam Buddha and Mahavir used to live in a hermitage, – away from ‘maya (seduction)’ of the world. Roman Catholics started living in the hermitage in about 400 A.D.
What Roman Catholics call it as “monastery or convent or abbey,” and what Rishi muni/ Sadhu Sanyasi of India call it as “ashram or math,” or what Buddhist monks call it as “vihara,” is called by TPM as “faith home or house of God.”
Nowhere in Bible did Apostles or Jesus or ministers of the word of God lived in Sanyasi Ashram. They all lived in their own homes. And they taught that we born-again humans are the temple of God. God dwells in us. We are the house of God. TPM teaches otherwise.
Dear TPM Believer, you are being taken for a royal ride by these ministers who are just a fulfillment of the following prophecies. Be warned. We have done our part. The Ball is now in your court.
Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is set on earthly things. Philippians 3:19
Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 2 Tim 3:5
But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. 3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. 2 Peter 2:1-3
