Lord’s Table or TPM’s Table?

All Christians are expected to observe one sacrament. This is what we commonly call as The Lord’s table. Our Lord has explicitly commanded his followers to do it in his remembrance (1 Corinthians 11:24). However, when it comes to TPM, I have always wondered if it is the Lord’s table or TPM’s Table. Somehow, TPM makes use of this Holy avenue to coerce their believers to obey their unbiblical doctrines. Surprisingly, this coercion is very evident in poor Churches in South India. They very carefully navigate through this topic in Western Nations to keep wealthy folks. Therefore the below situations are not applicable to wealthier churches. A clear violation of James Chapter 2. Moreover, the Bible tells us that it is an abomination to the Lord.

“Divers weights, and divers measures, both of them are alike abomination to the LORD.”

Proverbs 20:10

The TPM Twist

During the first century, the breaking of bread  was a daily act (Acts 2:46) and a weekly celebration on the first day of the week (Acts 20:7). However, in most TPM Churches this is a thing which gets conducted only every six months.

Lord's Table or TPM's TableThe Leaders of TPM somehow thinks that the Lord’s table cannot be conducted without few days of “Sanctification Meeting“.  This Sanctification Meeting is nothing but an occasion to tell the congregation who all are eligible to partake in the Lord’s table. The TPM Leaders do not trust in the convicting power of the Holy Spirit to set things straight in a person’s life. That is why I strongly believe that it’s not the Lord’s table that they are observing.

According to the Bible, the only criteria to partake in the Lord’s table is to be born again and be baptized. No other criterion is added in the Bible.

“Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.”

Acts 2:41

Is it the Lord’s Table or TPM’s Table that the TPM Ministers conduct.

Now let us consider these special items which qualify their believers to partake in the Holy Communion .

  1. These believers should be baptized by a TPM Worker whom they classify as an Apostle or a Saint.  If you were baptized by a Non-TPM Minister, you are at the mercy of the TPM Minister to  be offered a seat at the Lord’s table. I know of instances where people were removed by the Organization authorities from the Lord’s Table because they got Baptized by a non-TPM Minister.
  2. You should not be taking any medicines for any ailment. If you tell them that you are taking some medicines for some ailment, they would mercilessly remove you from the table and tell you that you do not have faith to get healing from the Lord. But it’s ironical that most of these same ministers wear spectacles, and take various ayurvedic (Indian Medicine) preparations for their own ailments. Few of them also have artificial dentures. Somehow they feel they need not have the faith that they are imposing on their believers.
  3. You are not qualified for the Holy Communion If you have not attended the sanctification meetings. They do not think that your conscience is good enough a judge for that act. They somehow feel that John was not very inspired when he wrote 1 John 3:21.  “Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.”
  4. If you have not confessed your sins before the Minister in the Sanctification Meeting, you are not eligible. They believe in the Roman Catholic practice of getting approval from the concerned TPM Minister. Somehow they like to shove in their nose in the private relationship between the Lord and the Believer.

Therefore now, let me ask this question to all my readers. Does TPM conduct the Lord’s Table or TPM’s Table?

  1. It is an organization which controls their believers to gain utmost importance to their unscriptural teachings. Follow Acts 17:10. May God save the innocent believers.

    1. I guess you wanted to mention Acts 17:11
“Now the Bereans were more noble-minded than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if these teachings were true”

  2. You should not be taking any medicines for any ailment is one of the conditions for partaking in the Lord’s Tables as per TPM. There are many pastors in TPM moving around the world frequently. We know in many countries one need to produce “vaccination clearance certificate” at the time of arrival. These people are really produce the true “vaccination clearance certificate” after taking the required vaccination or produce fake “vaccination clearance certificate”. In both the cases they are deceiving the believers. Will they reach the so called highest place of heaven called “Zion” as propagated by TPM.

  3. You should not be taking any medicines for any ailment is one of the pre-conditions set by TPM. Where is the evidence for such a condition in the Bible? We know in many countries one needs to produce “vaccination clearance certificate” at the arrival of that particular country. Many of the TPM pastors move around the world frequently. They travel with real “vaccination clearance certificate” after taking the required vaccination or with a fake “vaccination clearance certificate”? In both the cases they are not deceiving the innocent believers? If so, will they reach the highest place in heaven called Zion as propagated by TPM.

  4. Hi i belong to an ag church. There are things what you might be saying is true for holy communion like taking medicines. But i don’t know whats wrong with sanctification meetings. If anyone partake without following the word of God we are sinning. I feel i need to repent my sins and cleanse myself and its not a mind thing that happens just on the day of holy communion. Most churches its a tradition, atleastbfor these guys are serious about it. Freedom and ease from forefathers point of view is leading churches in destruction. Very soon pentecostal churches will be called cult. Modern church practices will replace previous generation. Lot of things to learn from tpm church like discipline at church. But i do agree with the politics, medicine, marriage etc..

    1. There is absolutely no problem in conducting sanctification meetings. But you should not deny anybody the Holy Communion, just because the person did not attend the meeting. We are expected to have daily sanctification in our personal life. We should not postpone sanctifying and correcting our lives for the Holy Communion which happens once in a blue moon. Sanctification refers to the process in our daily lives by which we are being conformed to the image of Christ. It is the process of becoming what we are in Christ. This involves the putting off of the old habits of lying, stealing, backbiting, etc., and putting on the Christ-like qualities of honesty, mercy, and love (Colossians 3:5-10.).

Moreover, We should not confess our faults before the minister and the general church crowd. We should confess the fault to God and to the specific individual against whom we have done the wrong.

  5. Glory be to God ,

Every Chruch has their own doctrines , in the same way TPM also has their own doctrine which they follow. There are many many many different Chruches in this world and all has their own doctrines in which a particular Chruch stand.

So my humble view is instead of judging a particular Chruch or their doctrine I guess people should pray for the same , instead of posting such stuff I urge the members to pray for the same.

And my views on the above .
Why I feel sanctification is necessary.

In John chapter 13:26 (NIV) we can see Jesus and his disciples taking part in communion . scripture says so “as soon as judas took the bread Satan entered into him”

Here we can see the importance of sanctification. judas had sin in his heart , he took part into the communion without confessing or repenting for this sins . Jesus was with him even then he didn’t confessed his sins , if he had confessed his sins then Jesus would have forgiven him.

Since he took the body of Christ in a wrong way satan entered into him. Before giving communion Jesus washed the feet of his disciple this shows an act of purification .

Indeed Jesus can cleanse us from our sins but for that we need to first confess our sins in his presence.

That’s the reason why Tpm Chruch keep a sanctification metting so that we could confess in the presence of God all the sins which we did knowingly and unknowingly and so that the communion would be a blessing in our life rather than a curse.

Nobody is perfect and everybody has their own views , let us keep our thoughts and views and pray for them rather than trying to degrade other Chruches

Judge not that ye be not judged.

    1. Doctrines that are non-biblical or extra biblical are devious and needs to be exposed. This blog is put up for the purpose of exposing such teachings. This blog is not against any individual but certainly against such non-biblical and extra-biblical teachings and practices

  6. U r nt sum1 to judge any church.before judging just remember mathew :7:1
Just leave it to gods hand n continue to pray if u feel its wrong.
Just stop accusing others n strt to correct self.

    1. Does your bible have Luke 12:57 ?
Do you even realize what you are telling? People like you are the reason for TPM having so many blind followers. Believers have the exclusive right to point out Wrong teachings and be careful. If you noted all posts on this site, it’s not about any individual. It’s about False Doctrine perpetrated in an Institutional Church.

These are not empty accusations…All Points put up in this site have been carefully researched and can be verified. Don’t get emotional. Be spiritual and follow what is right.

Do you know that we are expected to Judge what is RIGHT from WRONG? Please open up your Bible and read Revelation 2:2. Jesus Commends people who could find falsity.
Matthew 7:1 speaks about Judging an individual and also it tells us to Judge with the same standard that you expected to be Judged. I am ready to be put in the same category. If I am speaking unscriptural things, please rebuke me ON THE BASIS OF THE BIBLE.

I am doing a work in Exposing False teaching in TPM according to the Bible. In case you need some scripture for my actions please read the below verses.

Romans 16:17-18 – Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

Colossians 2:8 – Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

      2 Timothy 4:3-4 – For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

Ephesians 5:11 – And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove [them].

Matthew 7:15 – Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Galatians 1:6-9 – I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:

2 Corinthians 11:13-15 – For such [are] false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.

1 John 4:1 – Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Jude 1:4 – For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Timothy 5:20 – Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.

Matthew 7:21-23 – Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

      1 Timothy 4:1 – Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

Ephesians 5:6-13 – Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

2 John 1:10 – If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into [your] house, neither bid him God speed:

1 Thessalonians 5:21 – Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

Acts 20:29 – For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

Matthew 7:15-20 – Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

    2. 1 Corinthians 5:12-13 (CEB):
What do I care about judging outsiders? Isn’t it your job to judge insiders?
God will judge outsiders. Expel the evil one from among you!

    1. What type of language you are using? This is what you have learnt in TPM Sunday school? The quality of scriptural education imparting to Sunday school children in TPM is understood. It is highly commendable that you are still remembering the memory words of your TPM Sunday school. Hats off to you.
The entire world has come to know the culture and attitude of TPM folks. I think you may the one who is sitting on the front row of TPM Sunday congregation and praising and worshipping your “SAINTS” incessantly.
What did you gain from this? Anyway you have done a favour to the site, now more people from all parts of the world read this site. You made the work of admin easier.

    2. Sankar – it would be un-Christian to use such language.

Even if we disagree with someone, we must do so respectfully.

The admin has some issues with the doctrines of TPM and he is voicing them.

I disagree with his methods, but I will still greet him in sweet name of our Lord and pray for him.

      Let’s refrain from such language.

      God bless you.

  8. Franky,
What type of language you are using? Your native language use in your home.
This is what you have learnt in TPM Sunday school? No Your mother taught me.
I think you may the one who is sitting on the front row of TPM Sunday congregation and praising and worshipping your “SAINTS” incessantly. No When you are away your wife and I praise each other.
What did you gain from this? My question to you the same u dump dump. Go to sabrimala and do panhandle and you will be rich

    1. Sankar,
Better to introspect yourself. The whole world understood you and your family background.
Moreover your praising and worshipping with Your SAINTS.

  9. From my 30+ years as member of TPM, let me offer some of my experiences:

    1. No TPM worker has ever stopped me from partaking in communion because I take medicines. I have several medical issues for which I am seeking treatment and I do so openly. My fellow believers and my pastor know about it.
My faith is not strong enough for me to put up with the pain and suffering of disease.
Similarly, it is not strong enough for me to not take my child to the doctor when she is suffering.
That is for me to deal with.

    2. No TPM worker has ever stopped me from partaking in communion because I did not attend a sanctification meeting.
Due to my work, I am usually not able to make the time to be there.
    That, again, is my shortcoming.
I hope to be able to find the grace and strength to make time for God.

    3. I have always learnt that if i take communion with sin in my heart, mind or body then I will pay a price.
That price is not set by a TPM worker, but God Almighty, who sees my heart and mind and knows what state I am in and what I am going through.
In His great mercy, He will judge me and “reward” me justly – on this earth and in eternity.

    4. I have lived in and worshiped with TPM in 5 cities around the world and 2 of them in India.
No TPM worker has ever stopped me from taking communion.
It has always been left to each individual’s conscience to do or not.

    5. There was a discussion about not being allowed to take communion if one partakes with another church or denomination.
I have heard this before and the servants of God have offered scriptural explanations for this.
I don’t recall it exactly right now, but their explanation was good enough for me.
It doesn’t affect me in any way since I don’t partake in any other church or denomination.
I know lots of people who attend services of other denominations as well.
They do so of their own free will.
I know people whose daughters have married into other denominations, who still come and attend TPM services when they have a chance.
Some of them have even voluntarily moved over.

I know personal friends who are partaking with other Pentecostal denominations, and wish to join TPM’s services, but cannot do so due to family and social pressures.

    6. There was a mention of denying communion to those who are baptized in other churches.
From what I know, this is limited to those who were baptized as infants – as we don’t accept that as a true baptism. So, this is relevant to those who come from a Catholic, Marthoma, Jacobite, etc where this practice is prevalent.
I know several Pentecostal believers who have moved over to TPM and merely continued their faith life without being re-baptized.

I believe that more than worrying about taking medicine or attending the sanctification meeting, one must worry about the state of one’s heart and mind.
If you have any enmity or hatred towards another person or vice versa, you must go and reconcile with them before you sit at the Lord’s table.
If you have any secret sins, then you must cleanse yourself of them.

At the end of life, this body (whether it has medicines in it or not) will turn to dust.
But the soul will stand before God on judgement day.

    Now, to the admin –
    – You are free to contest the doctrines if you disagree.
But you have to bear in mind that if you are to be taken seriously, you have to first establish your credentials.
So, my questions to you are:
    1. Why should anyone believe your interpretation of the Bible?
In a school or college class, when a student makes a mistake or has learnt something wrong, the teacher can correct him with authority because he or she has gone through specific training and work experience to do so.
Put simple, what is your background and learning to be able to “set right” what you believe to be “wrong”?

    2. The tone of your posts has been very aggressive, antagonistic and rude. You have called and implied that TPM workers are “criminals”, “adulterers” and “murderers”.
These are words that only used once it has been established beyond the shadow of doubt that such things have taken place.
What is your standing that gives you the moral high ground to make these allegations?

    3. You have alleged illicit practices in the faith homes.
Have you personally witnessed it or are you merely repeating things that have been said by others?

    4. You have published the “testimony” of a man who has made allegations against the late Pastor Alwin.
I am not doubting his experiences, because I was not there to witness it.
I only know two people who have lived in the faith home in Ceylon at the same time as Pastor Alwin. Neither of them have ever mentioned any such thing and both of them have spoken about Pastor Alwin’s misdeeds.
None of them used such descriptive language in sharing their experiences.
As the “editor” of this site, should you not have edited it so that the picture that is painted is a clear and objective one?

All you have done on this website is merely talk, talk and talk more.

It sounds like walking into a library filled with books and hearing voices telling you what to read and what not to read.
But the librarian is not to be found.

If you are a true believer and practitioner of the word of God, then stand up before people and preach.

    Don’t hide yourself.

I respect people who question status quo – but not invisible people who throw mud and then hide.

    1. Brother,
From you statement, it’s amply clear that you are not a resident of Tamil Nadu or Trivandrum Centre of Kerala. These weird cases which we have brought up in this article is highlighting the specific cases in these places. Our question is this.
If this doctrine/Practice cannot be applied to other parts of India/World, why apply it to a certain part. Arent Doctrines supposed to be universal?
We know of pastors who has agreed to our reasoning but has said that if we try to apply it in other places, there will be an exodus of believers.

So Dear Vik Gant…Tell me what it is…Is not this Deception like how Muslims practice? They show their sober faces and adjustability in the Western Nations. But they become dangerous implementers of their religion in Saudi,Pakistan, Afghanistan, Islamic State etc.

I say this is TAQIYYA being applied by TPM…Touch your heart and tell me is this RIGHT?

      1. I have lots of friends in the Kerala and TN centres in India and I visit regularly, but never heard of such cases.

If there are such isolated cases, then I would have suggested that you formally write to the chief pastor to clarify the actual position on these matters.

If a TPM worker needs to be corrected, then it is the duty of the leadership to do so.

BTW, I am not agreeing with you, but suggesting and alternative to setting up a website and resorting to insulting and name-calling an entire group of people.
        That is not Christian behaviour.

I believe somewhere in the Bible, it says that if you have a grievance with your brother, the before offering your sacrifice to God, you must go and reconcile with him.

I don’t believe that means, set up a website and accuse them.

As I have said before, in all my years I have never come across such practices.

When I have a chance, I will enquire about it.

        1. Friend
Anybody taking medicine can also take Holy Communion in TPM under the false pretext of not taking medicine. When the Brother/Pastor in Charge tells people not to take holy communion if you have taken medicine, many people do the ostrich in the sand thing. But the Principle stands. YOU CANNOT TAKE HOLY COMMUNION if YOU HAD MEDICINES. In fact, I know of people who were excommunicated for the same.

My Question is, Is it Right to make believers LIE in action for something which is NON-BIBLICAL. Please give me an answer.

          Your Next Point.
You might be referring to Matthew 18:15-16 “If your brother sins against you, go and confront him privately. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. 16But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.”

You are making a huge assumption that this problem is not brought to the TPM Pastors and higher-ups concerned. No it’s not so. It is already brought up by many people and I in fact brought up. Not because they have excommunicated me..But because I saw few poor folks pushed out for this specific reason.

A small snippet of my conversation would be as follows
Me: Pastor, do we have any place in the bible which clearly says that we need to excommunicate people who take medicines.
Pastor: Not really. But we want to build up people’s faith.
Me: Pastor…Brother X had a open heart surgery recently. Would you please ask him to avoid holy communion because of the treatment he took?
Pastor: oh no we surely cannot tell that to him. Not possible.

          Now Brother
Please read James Chapter 2 and tell me if it is not a violation of the law of God. God Calls it sin in James 2:9
I know that out of the zeal to defend any nonsense by TPM, you will give them a pass. But Be honest and true to yourself and be UNBIASED. Because what I see is that you are also transgressing James 2 even after you know that evidence is staring at your face.

        2. Brother admin

I’m sorry that you have had to experience such things.

I have only spoken of my experience.

But I take some of the responsibility – because I did not pray enough for you.
I will try to change that.

I don’t know which pastor or brother forbids people from communion. It would help to know.

In summary, if the doctrine being preached is wrong, then God will correct it.

          I sympathise with you.

          I will pray for you.

        3. Vik, the whole of TPM preaches this. They actively preach against believers sitting at the communion table if they take medicine (but of course believers still sit at the table).
I’ll tell you from my own personal experience. About 15 years ago my dad was in a small accident and fractured his hand. The doctors put the POP cast on his hand but my dad did not take any medicine. Pastor MT Thomas was serving at that time. He told my dad to not sit for the communion because even though he didn’t take any medicine because he had the cast on his hand.

        4. I have seen the double-faced behavior of TPM in this. They look at the crowd and behaves conveniently. They do not preach this nonsense outside India or more precisely South India. Because if they do, they have to effectively shut the doors of their ministry in those places. Hypocrites of the First Grade.

        5. Of course, if my dad was a billionaire donating bags of $$ to the ministry they wouldn’t dare ask him to miss the communion.

  10. Dear Vik Gant,
    You said,
There was a mention of denying communion to those who are baptized in other churches.
From what I know, this is limited to those who were baptized as infants – as we don’t accept that as a true baptism. So, this is relevant to those who come from a Catholic, Marthoma, Jacobite, etc where this practice is prevalent.
I know a 74 year old man who thought TPM is more holy and started going there. As per the tradition of TPM holy communion services is once in a blue moon,I mean, maximum 2 or 3 times in a year. While he was waiting for his turn to receive holy communion, the saint pastor asked him where did you have your baptism? He said AG church. Immediately this pastor saint said “പെണ്ണുങ്ങളോട് കൂടെ കെടക്കുന്നവൻറ്റെ സ്നാനം ഞങ്ങൾ അംഗീകരിക്കുന്നില്ല.” We don’t accept the baptism given by someone who sleeps with ladies.” I thought what nonsense he is telling? He has not slept with ladies? As an infant where he was sleeping?

    1. Right Brother…The Arrogance and Pride of TPM are seething through their skin. I say unto you, this 74-year-old man is justified before God than this arrogant TPM Saint who do not have any idea of the power of the Blood of Christ. Poor Vik Gant living outside the forte of TPM in South India does not know the true color of the wolves.

  11. There are so many allegations in everywhere. Google it. Here are some samples.

      Thanks for sharing these links.
The only one I could not read is the one in Malayalam.

It is shocking to see what crimes are committed by so-called evangelists and pastors.
The word of God does talk about false prophets.

However, I would like to point out that not a single one of these is a TPM pastor.

There are lots of Pentecostal churches that are spoiling the good image of hard working servants of God.

In everything good in this world, there will be a little bit of bad as well.

      1. However, I would like to point out that not a single one of these is a TPM pastor.
I believe because none of such news is allowed to see the light of day.
I’m wondering if you are actually living in this real world of TPM or some fairy tale land far away…
